Welcome to my site. My goal is to help runners get faster, run longer, and feel good about running.
My Life Before Cross Country
I was born in Kenya and came to the USA when I was in the 9th grade. Running was a big part of my life. Growing up, we spent all of our spare time outside playing games which almost always involved running. My speed and endurance was slightly above average in a Kenyan setting. When I got to the United states, I spent a lot of time indoors and I even began gaining some weight. I had a lot on my on my plate. I had some difficulty adjusting to a new culture, I had some family issues and personal issues which caused me a lot of stress. I continued staying indoors doing nothing and days turned into weeks turned into months and before I knew it two years had passed.
I was now in 11th grade high school. I decided to join the cross-country team just to keep myself busy. I was really out-of-shape and I joined two weeks late. That same day a joined we had a competition against our rival High school.
My coach recommended that I shouldn’t run but I really wanted to compete so I did. I came in second which shocked everyone. I almost passed out however because I pushed myself too hard. Deep down, I knew that I could be a lot faster when I get back in shape.
My coach saw what I was able to do and from that day he spent a lot of time and money to get me the training I needed. I am really grateful for the training I received. The training I recieved made me faster, got me running longer, and gave me mental toughness which is critical in an endurance race.
I feel like it is my obligation to pass down what I have learned. Its really easy to implement these tactics. I want more people to get into running because running is good for your health, can improve your mood and helps people live a better and happier life. Running is also a healthy way to lower you stress and have you feeling confidently happy.
My goal is to help runners get the training they need to run faster, longer, and feel better about running. I want runners to avoid mistakes that may result in no progress or even injury. A lot of runners are overwhelmed with many trainings that are confusing and with little effectiveness . I want to share simple techniques that can make a big difference.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
